The Olive Hotel is located in the center of Bishkek. It is a comfortable and welcoming space for ecotourists, family travelers, vegetarians and adventure seekers from all over the world. The Olive Hotel applies only environmentally friendly approaches in its business. The hotel has 45 rooms with an area of more than 1000 m2.
The hotel installed heat pumps for heating and cooling, as well as a combined system of 8 solar water heaters (SWH) and a heat pump for hot water supply. Heat pumps are used to ensure the autonomy of the solar system during significant fluctuations in the intensity of solar rays due to weather and seasonal conditions year-round. These heat pumps have a coefficient of performance (COP) of 3.5. Throughout the year the heat pump consumes about 300 W of electrical energy for 1 kW of generated heat energy.
So, there are practically no costs associated with hot water supply, since the water system is completely autonomous from the city's centralized heating and power supply system. Additionally, this sustainable approach attracts more guests to the hotel.
BENEFITS
The installed solar collector system in combination with the heat pump saves up to 60% of the energy used for hot water supply.
The hotel saves up to 40% of energy for cooling, heating and hot water supply, which is about 45.76 MWh per year. In addition, the system reduces harmful CO2 emissions by 2.4 tons per year.
