Eco-friendly water heat pump reduces costs three times (Kyrgyzstan)

Many hotels have swimming pools that consume considerable amounts of water, money and energy for heating. As a rule, for water heating electric heaters or furnaces are used t, which are both energy and money-consuming methods.

The Smart Hotel is located in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. Its management has introduced a set of energy-saving measures that helped to reduce costs. One of the measures included the installation of a heat pump to warm up the swimming pool water. This technology allowed the management to reduce water heating costs 3 times.

The pump produces about 3-5 kW of heat energy while consuming only 1 kW of electric energy. The mechanism is simply based on heat transfer from the surrounding environment (water, soil or air) into the pool.

The installed heat pump is an air-to-water type that uses energy from ambient air. Apart from energy and cost saving benefits, the system requires no special maintenance and is simple to operate.

The settings of the heat pump system can be adjusted using a special automation unit. Due to simple and well-thought design the heat pump can work smoothly for over 25 years and longer. Neither gas, nor solid fuel, nor electric boilers have such a service life.

The heat pump is an eco-friendly option. Such heating installations require no fuel, and therefore, emit no harmful substances typical for gas or solid fuel boilers. These installations are completely safe for people and the environment.

BENEFIT

The Smart Hotel approximately managed to reduce CO2 emissions by 500 kg and save 5600 kWh of energy per year.
